Endingen mikveh: a ritual bath for Jews

The mikveh is over 150 years old and still well-preserved. The Endingen mikveh, designed by the Baden architect Caspar Joseph Jeuch, is an impressive testament to Jewish ritual culture. The bath was built directly over its own spring. It consisted of a simple changing room and a plunge pool, accessible via steps. The pool, in which Jews immersed themselves completely before important holidays or festivals, has been preserved to this day.

A living museum

The mikveh has been a core element of Doppeltür since December 2024. A number of multimedia elements bring Jewish bathing culture to life. The mikveh is part of the Jewish Cultural Trail and can be explored individually or as part of a group tour.
